Hearing Aids Concerns We Address

Our audiologists at Florida ENT Associates can help a variety of patients with their hearing aid concerns. Some of the most common issues we assist patients with include:

  • Patients who are looking to have their hearing aids programmed for the first time
  • Patients who are looking to have their hearing aids adjusted after some use
  • Patients who would like their settings adjusted after prolonged use
  • Patients who are seeing maintenance or care information for their hearing aids

What Some Programming Methods Include

Patients experiencing hearing loss can use hearing aids to amplify the sounds around them, which can help patients hear them more clearly. Hearing aids are not designed to be one-size-fits-all and require a delicate fine-tuning process to ensure they meet your unique needs. Our audiologists will work with you to adjust your hearing aids and ensure they are correctly programmed. Some of the programming methods include:

Surround Sound

During the programming process, our audiologists will use surround sound technology to replicate the sounds of an outdoor environment. They will mimic the sounds of crowds and traffic right from the office and adjust the noise reduction settings as needed. This ensures your hearing aids will be able to work in a variety of settings.

Real-Ear Probe Microphones

Our audiologists will use a small probe to find which sounds can reach your eardrum while wearing your hearing aids. This allows the audiologist to fine-tune your hearing aids further.

Visible Speech Mapping (VSM)

Your audiologist can use this method to determine the volume of amplification reaching your ear and make adjustments to the settings as needed.
