Cancer can occur in several different areas of the neck and head, including in the mouth, tongue, and throat. These may not be the typical regions that patients expect to see cancer; nevertheless, it is important to screen for the disease when questionable symptoms arise.
Evaluation and Treatment Options
Our first order of business at Florida ENT Associates is to conduct the necessary diagnostic testing to determine the causes of your symptoms. These tests may include bloodwork, urine samples, endoscopy, X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs. The exact testing methods will depend on the size and location of your mass or lump.
Our ENT surgeons will seek to remove any cancerous growths and the surrounding tissues so as to stop the disease from spreading. In some cases, the patient may need to undergo radiation, depending on the type and location of the cancer.
