How Balloon Sinuplasty is Performed

Balloon sinuplasty does not require any incisions, so there is no scarring. However, the procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia to ensure your utmost comfort and relaxation. Once you are unconscious, your ENT provider will insert a small balloon through the nostrils that will be inflated to increase the amount of room in the nasal passageways so you can breathe better. Once the airway is sufficiently enlarged, the balloon is deflated and extracted from the nose.

Balloon sinuplasty is an effective measure for improving your breathing and putting an end to chronic discomfort and headaches. If your condition has not responded to medications, you may be an ideal candidate for the procedure.
