At Florida ENT Associates, we can diagnose your gastroesophageal through pH testing, evaluate your issues in-depth, and create a personalized action plan for resolving your distress. Our aim is to help you resume living a healthy, comfortable life as quickly as possible.

How Testing is Performed

During the testing procedure for acid reflux, a small probe is inserted into the nose and directed towards the esophagus. The device tracks, records, and relays your pH levels to our doctors.

Our providers can then determine the best course of action for treating your symptoms. The test typically lasts 1-2 days, and you will be able to go about your normal activities the whole time.

What to Expect from Your Test

The first step is for our knowledgeable ENT doctors to administer the acid reflux test. You may be asked to halt certain medications before the test or stop eating and drinking for a designated amount of time.

Once your pH tracking device is inserted, you will be able to immediately return to your normal schedule. The device will be left in place for about 1-2 days, at which point you will meet once more with your ENT provider, who will then analyze your results and instruct you on the next phase of your treatment plan.

Who is a Candidate?

If you are enduring chronic heartburn and think you might have acid reflux, it may be an excellent time to schedule a consultation with our caring, experienced ENT specialists. If you have already been diagnosed with acid reflux, but your medication doesn’t seem to be working, we can help.
